The location is just superb. Super central and inside the free tram zone, Queen Victoria Market, major shops, restaurants and malls and Flinders Street Station only a few minutes away by foot. Definitely good value for money and by far the most affordable option. Room was a bit outdated maybe but very clean and had everything you need (hair dryer, fridge, tea and coffee facilities) and the milk got topped up by the staff which was nice. Overall, good for a few days. Apparently there are some renovations done on the top floors which would make everything a bit nicer. We were also able to leave our bags there on the last day. Has a bar and provides breakfast but didn't use either.

In these days of corporate owners it was great to find in the city a family owned establishment. The bar is great. I stumbled upon it. Such an asset needs some advertising.

Great location, close to everything, some renovations taking place however wasn't impacted by noise. Only one lift shared with cleaning staff so needed to use stairs on occasions. Staff were very helpful, the motel was a budget price and completely served our purpose of a 1 night stay.

Great good value Hotel in the city centre, Close to all modes of very good public transport. Clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Special mention goes to the elderly gentleman who seems to be there most of the time. Great talker and helpful with advice about what's going on in the great city of Melbourne. Thank you, will stay again at Hotel Sophia on my next visits and recommend it to friends and family.

Our king size bed was comfortable, we had an abundance of towels and pillows. Soaps supplied was lovely, didn't even use my own.

The location of this hotel was perfect coming off the train. Very reasonable price per night being it was a long weekend. Staff were very polite and welcoming, the owner was great and was always up for a chat. Room was comfortable and had basic tea and coffee facilities in the room. Bed was comfy and bathroom was a reasonable size with good water pressure in the shower. I booked for 2 nights but on the morning of check out decided i wanted to extens my stay by another night. This was not a problem at all and was taken care of quickly and easily.

I have stayed here before: rooms are smallish but fine for a short stay. The owners are putting a lot of TLC into the place (including fresh paintwork and a new elevator, still in its delivery wrap) and improvements are noticeable. 24 hour Reception is good (and unusual at this price) , breakfast was good value, bed comfy and small bathroom was fine. Would be happy to stay again. Surrounded by many new food options and growing Korean presence. 10 minutes’ walk from Southern Cross; 5 from Flagstaff station and in the free tram zone, so it’s easy to get to the sights.

The other staff members were polite, friendly, and helpful, breakfast was good value at $12 a person in hotel Sophia's. We enjoyed our stay, you have a Korean BBQ buffet all you can eat across the road from the hotel, if you don't want along cue going there make sure you arrive around 4.30 or 5 pm, there is a time frame of 90 minutes to get what you want and if you exceed by 10 minutes you pay an extra $5 per person

Hotel was within walking distance of Southern Cross Station and Trams. The room was clean, the bed large and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the water hot. Tea and coffee available, with good breakfast downstairs. Overall good value.
